Biofloc based farming system is a new technology for the promotion of intensive fish and shrimp production in a limited area without significantly increasing the usage of the basic natural resources of water and land. Biofloc technology (BFT) is considered the new "blue revolution" in aquaculture. Nearly all biofloc systems are used to grow shrimp or tilapia. Wild fish stocks are also being depleted and in the not so distant future, the only source of fish will be farmed fish. Biofloc technology is the answer to all these challenges as a means of providing fish in a sustainable and profitable manner.
OTAFARMS Academy offers complete training in BioFloc Fish Farming (Tilapia and Catfish) including fish tank setup and biofloc technology. We can also assist with farm setup from ground up. We also offer Contract farming and Consultancy. Contract fish farming is a concept where an investor invests in the farm and we manage the day-to-day operations from stocking to harvest. Net profits will be shared between the investor and OTAFARMS on an agreed percentage.
This course trains qualified technicians in all areas of growing market gardening, perennial, leguminous, fodder, cereal and oilseed crops. The training gives an important place to the agronomic potential of the soil, fertilizer and amendment inputs, plant biology, the physiology of reproduction, the functioning and processes of reproduction and multiplication of plants and seeds.
Minimum qualification to get into this program is GCE O'level or BEPC from secondary education. By the end of this course, students will be able to run a commercial maize, soyabeans, yams, casava and beans farms.
The training lasts one year: nine months (02 semesters) of training and a two-month internship period (02 months) offered by the training center in the fields and partner farms in Cameroon.
The AgriBusiness specialty aims to train technicians capable of leading business projects in any sector (industrial, service, commercial, technological, cultural), through the development of business understanding and the acquisition of knowledge. theoretical and practical skills of project management.
Minimum qualification to get into this program is GCE A'level or Baccalaureate from High School. The training aims at developing users in farm project management, Sales and Marketing, Securing Bank Financing, Farm Record Keeping (Bookkeeper) and Farm Machinery & Equipments.
The training lasts six months (06 months) with an internship period of one month (01 month). By the end of the program, you will be able to lead a project and manage a team of employees.
